The first ignition of the inner interface.

You don’t notice the sigil at first, automatically writing it off as the distortion of your vision due to the light bending wrong. Don’t panic …
A thin filament of reflection slips across your iris as you lean toward the mirror, a stray glint from the bathroom window. But then the line curves. It locks into an angle that shouldn’t exist in a reflection. And the moment you blink, the geometry beneath your eye blinks back.
You freeze.
But the sigil in your vision doesn’t.
It begins to tighten, threads of pale light sliding into one another with mechanical patience. A soft pressure rises behind your forehead, a soundless click, like something adjusting the settings of the person wearing you. The symbols shift again, not drifting randomly but assembling with purpose, resolving into a pattern that feels disconcertingly familiar.
A pulse of light hits your vision, and your heart pulses in answer.
The circle inside your eye seals shut with a quiet finality. Glyphs scroll across the inside of your sightline, leaving faint phosphor trails as they settle.
You’re not looking at a reflection, you’re watching a system wake up!
And somewhere beneath the surface of your thoughts, something else stirs … the sense that the room, the city, the world itself has just noticed you back. The air feels indexed. Every angle of light, every object in reach, suddenly tagged and ready, as if reality has switched from background to interface.
Then a voice arrives, using your own internal cadence, calm and unbearably intimate:
INTERFACE ONLINE.
Connection to local reality confirmed.
Welcome back, Echo Bearer.
